What
is the "Manage Clients" section all about?
Simply,
this area allows you to manage your entire database of prospects,
clients and affiliates within your shopping cart account. From
within this area, you can import, export, search, add, edit and
delete any number of individual client records.

What
does the "Bounce Manager" do?
From
the Search form below you will find the option to search by a number
of different criteria including: Hard or Soft Bounces, Unknown or
Undefined Errors and Spam Rejection. You can use this to narrow
down the scope of your search for those who have a bounce history.
Your
search can also be narrowed using the Hard-bounce dropdown. This
allows you to filter by how many times the particular address has
bounced. This way, you can see everyone who has had 3 Hard-bounces
in one single report! You can then sort these records further by
using the up and down arrow buttons located below each column heading.
This will sort the results in ascending or descending order.
To change email addresses in your database that
are producing Hard or consistent bounces, simply edit the email
address field then click the update button in that column.
You
may want to remove eMail addresses from your database that are producing
Hard or consistent bounces. To do this you may place a check in
the Select box to the right of each record and then click the Delete
button to delete all selected records.
Once your "Hard Bounce" count has reached
3 we then mark it as Invalid and will not continue to send mail
to that address. Correcting the email address and clicking on the
update link will reset the bounce count.

Every
now and then, it's a good idea to "clean up your database"
online as time goes by. Every other day, or once a week, you might
choose to log into your account, click on Manage Clients
and perform a Search of the entire database.
This
will generate a long list of both new and old prospects, clients
and affiliates. Then, starting from the top (i.e., your most recent
database entries), you might begin to clean up any uncapitalized
names, entries with no names, eMail addresses that don't look real,
etc. Now, why do this? Because the next time you communicate with
your database, guess how you will address these people? Hello Mr.
"all lowercase name." Or, Dear Ms. (no name), .... No,
this is not what you want to do and it's certainly not how people
want to be addressed when you eMail them. They're expecting you
to address them properly. So, to do this, every once in awhile,
it's a good idea to log into your account and manually clean it
up a bit ...
DOUBLE OPT-IN POLICY WHEN IMPORTING CLIENTS INTO YOUR ACCOUNT
When
you IMPORT CLIENTS into your database in any size quantity, our
system will automatically eMail them a message that asks them to
"Opt-in" confirmation before we'll allow your imported
names and eMail addresses to be added to your online database.
Due
to the popularity of our eMail broadcasting service and recent changes
in Spam legislation, we have been forced to regulate the important
of eMail addresses by everyone using the system.
This
message we send to your imported list contains a confirmation link
that uses a unique closed loop method that will track the confirmation,
including the time, date and IP address of the recipient's confirmation.
As
each contact responds to this confirmation eMail, they will be added
to your online database and available to you for eMailing them your
newsletter, announcements and special offers.
